The Ultimate in Wedding Videos by International Videographer Tom Barrera The Ultimate in Wedding Videos by International Videographer Tom Barrera Editing

The goal of this tribute video was to present the essence of the life of Elvis Presley without any narration ( just pure Elvis).
It had to be within a medley of his music, comprise clips in sync with footage from dozens of concerts, TV specials and include clips spanning his movie career.

This video is what got me started in video production and videography back in the eighties.  I wanted to make the worlds first music video filmed from a hang glider. So I designed special camera mounts and went film flying over the clifts of the windward side of Oahu at Makapuu.  None of the local video editors could get close to what I wanted so I rented an editing suite and learned how to edit the video myself. I had a talent for it and soon after turned pro.

Editing your Wedding Stories

The art of Videography can be described as applying colors to a palette (DV tape)

The editing process (via the computer) is the canvas.

Editing by many is simple removing unnecessary footage, but in the hands of a creative and talented editor your finished video will be a memorable one and something to cherish. There is no substitute for good editing. I am very proud to say
I am one of the best.

This video was made just for fun a couple of years ago.
A marathon Editing Session that features me, Diane, the Kitty of Honor Sassy, and last but not least, Scarlet the Best Bird who was also the Preacher Bird.
It's called "working day and night" the making of a demo.

I have had the privilege of editing two very challenging Montage
Tributes, one a  Tribute to the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley
and the other, A Tribute to the summer Olympics back in 88.
They each required hundreds of hours of editing to complete.  But my first love is editing wedding videos .

When I edit your video, I generally require about 4 hours of editing per each attended hour.
So a 4-hour schedule will take approximately 20 hours of editing, an 8-hour schedule 40.

Double that for two cameras. For some strange reason I always seem to put more time into it than that.
I consider editing to be an art form and it is one I truly enjoy.
I hope you see it in my work.

My very first video production. A Music Video "Naturaly",

King Kong the Music Video

I Edited and condensed the original King Kong movie "music video style" just for practice after going digital. I thought it would be great idea to score the music track with Woolly Bully, by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. It was amazing how they did special effects back then and no computers either.

Our DVD delivery time is around Two weeks.

Tribute to the King of Rock and Roll

A Tribute to the Olympics

Edited by Tom Barrera in 1989

Edited by Tom Barrera in 1988, tape to tape,

The goal of this video was to present the best moments of the summer games back in 1988. It was edited from hundreds of hours of video footage, tape to tape the old fashioned way.  I would not start the project until I had the perfect music. It took a few months to find it. The music is called Im on fire, by the very talented Tina Marie from England. She was trilled to have her music be the score for this incredible video.

I did not dub music onto this video.  I inserted video over the music. That's why I had to have the music score first. In this way I had more creative control over the flow and timing of the imagery. It was very detailed, time-consuming work, but well worth the effort.

Transferred in 2003 to digital with some new footage added. The project was wiped out in a hard drive crash, this swf file is
all there is left of it.

These two videos were encoded in an old flash format. They may take up to 3-4 minutes to pre-load but are amazing and will be worth the wait.
